It stimulates the gut to move, helping to push food through the digestive tract. Viberzi is taken twice a day with food, while Motegrity is taken once a day, with or without food. Viberzi is a controlled substance due to its potential for abuse and dependence, whereas Motegrity is not a controlled medication. Common side effects of Viberzi include constipation, nausea, and abdominal pain, while Motegrity commonly causes headaches, stomach pain, and nausea.
