Trintellix (vortioxetine) and Lexapro (escitalopram) are antidepressants that treat depression. But they’re not in the same medication class. Lexapro is often a first-choice medication for anxiety over Trintellix although both work well. But Trintellix is only available as a brand-name medication, so it can be expensive. Trintellix and Lexapro have common side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, and withdrawal symptoms if you stop taking them abruptly. But sexual problems are less likely with Trintellix than they are with Lexapro.
