Parasitic Infection Medications

Medications for parasitic infections are used to treat conditions like giardiasis, roundworm infections, tapeworm infections, and trichomoniasis. Some of these medications can also treat other parasitic infections like Chagas disease. They work by killing the parasites in the body. Common classes include antiparasitics, anthelmintics, and antiprotozoals. Antiparasitics, like ivermectin (Stromectol), are usually taken as oral pills. Anthelmintics, such as albendazole (Albenza), also come in oral form. Antiprotozoals like metronidazole (Flagyl) are available in both oral and injectable forms. These options provide different options to help manage and treat parasitic infections effectively.
