What Are Scabies?

Scabies is a skin condition caused by mites that burrow under the skin and cause allergic reactions. Symptoms include itching, rashes, and blisters. The hands and fingers are typically the most infected areas, but infection can occur in other parts on the body.

Treatment for scabies include using topical treatments. Common drug classes used to treat scabies are pyrethroids and antiparasitics. Scabies is very contagious, so treatment can be done for everyone in the same household to prevent spreading.
