Medications for non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis are used to treat this autoimmune condition. They also have other uses, such as managing plaque psoriasis and other related conditions. They generally work by reducing inflammation and slowing disease progression. Two common classes are Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors and biologics. JAK inhibitors like Rinvoq (upadacitinib) are usually taken as oral pills. Biologics, such as Cimzia (certolizumab pegol), Taltz (ixekizumab), and Cosentyx (secukinumab), are typically given as injections.
