Compare Anoro Ellipta vs. Stiolto Respimat

Anoro Ellipta (umeclidinium/vilanterol) and Stiolto Respimat (tiotropium/olodaterol) are both inhalers used to manage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Anoro Ellipta combines a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) and a long-acting beta-agonist (LABA) and is taken once daily. Stiolto Respimat also combines a LAMA and a LABA but requires two puffs once daily. Anoro Ellipta does not need to be cleaned or primed before use. It has a 6-week expiration once opened. Stiolto Respimat needs to be primed before first use and cleaned weekly. It should be discarder 3 months after first use. Anoro Ellipta contains milk protein, which can cause severe allergies in some people, whereas Stiolto Respimat does not. Both medications are brand-name only and can be expensive, but they do not contain steroids, so you don't need to rinse your mouth after using them.
