Valacyclovir (Valtrex) is an antiviral medicine. It is used to treat or prevent infections caused by certain kinds of viruses. Foscarnet is part of the CMV Nucleoside Analogues class and treats Herpes and CMV. CMV nucleoside analogues are used to treat CMV. They work by slowing down the growth of the virus to prevent spreading. Foscarnet is only available as a generic drug.
