Hepatitis B nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) are used to treat hepatitis B. These medications work by blocking the virus from making copies of itself, which helps to reduce the amount of virus in your body. NRTIs for hepatitis B are available in oral form. Examples include entecavir (Baraclude), adefovir (Hepsera), and lamivudine (Epivir HBV).
