HeyDoctor Is Now GoodRx Care: Affordable, Quality Online Medical Visits

Our mission at GoodRx is to help Americans get the healthcare they need at a price they can afford. We started with a price comparison tool for prescriptions, offering consumers free access to lower prices on their medications. Then, through the acquisition of HeyDoctor, we expanded our platform to provide affordable and convenient medical provider consultations online. 

GoodRX Care

Today, we’re excited to announce that HeyDoctor is now GoodRx Care — a new name and new home for affordable online doctor visits and prescription savings, whether you have insurance or not.

With GoodRx Care, you can see a licensed healthcare provider for advice, diagnosis, and treatment of routine health conditions in the ease and comfort of your own home. Visits are $19 with a Gold Membership, and most visits are $49 for non-members (visits that include lab tests cost a bit more). Along with online primary care visits, GoodRx Care provides you with access to lab testing and prescription discounts. You can get prescriptions from your local pharmacy or have them delivered directly to your home.

We think GoodRx Care answers a real need in the American healthcare marketplace. It takes, on average, more than 20 days to see a doctor in the U.S., and there is a shortage of primary care physicians (one that’s expected to get even worse in the next decade). At the same time, more Americans are facing rising healthcare costs due to insurmountable deductibles, a lack of sufficient insurance coverage, and fewer options for accessible care. The pandemic has also led to a new need for virtual doctor visits, which has shown consumers just how easy it is to use telehealth services. We think this trend is here to stay for a lot of health conditions.

GoodRx Care is available for patients nationwide, and can be used for women’s health, men’s health, preventative care, and chronic care services. And if you need a prescription refill, we can help with that, too. 

Frequently asked questions about the transition to GoodRx Care

Here are answers to some questions you might have about the new GoodRx Care.

What does this change mean for me?

GoodRx Care still delivers the same great telehealth services you’ve come to expect from HeyDoctor — but with a new name. With GoodRx Care, you’ll still be able to access advice, prescriptions, and labs from our expert providers.

Just like before, our licensed healthcare providers are available 7 days a week. You can chat with a provider, review your treatment plan, and ask questions right in the message center.

I’ve already used HeyDoctor — do I need a new account?

No, we’re keeping it easy with no need for a new account. Simply log in to GoodRx Care with the exact same email address you used for HeyDoctor at goodrx.com/care (instead of heydoctor.goodrx.com or heydoctor.com).

Why did HeyDoctor become GoodRx Care?

Since acquiring HeyDoctor in 2019, we’ve worked to expand our treatment coverage to deliver more affordable benefits, such as prescription savings and home delivery, as part of GoodRx. The new GoodRx Care brand represents those efforts.

How do I get my prescriptions?

If a provider prescribes a medication during your GoodRx Care visit, you can either pick it up at a local pharmacy of your choice, or select mail delivery to have it sent to your home. 

However, mail delivery is not available for all medications.
