GoodRx Health Honored With Six Digital Health Awards
We are proud to announce that GoodRx Health has been recognized at the 26th annual Digital Health Awards. Overseen by the Health Information Resource Center, the Digital Health Awards honor leading digital health resources developed for consumers and health professionals. Award entries are evaluated by type of content, format, targeted consumer audience, and overall quality.
In June 2024, GoodRx Health received six awards for editorial content, including three Gold Awards. Gold represents the highest level of achievement in a given category.
About the awards received
Two stories received a Gold Award in the category of Digital Media/Publications, Consumer Audience, Single Article. The first was our story spotlighting the most influential FDA approvals of 2023. We’ve now updated that story to track notable approvals in 2024. We also received a Gold Award for our guide to end-of-life planning. That piece included information on the steps, questions, and people that can help readers start to create a plan.
In the same category, we received a Silver Award for our story about the potential health benefits of functional mushrooms. Our analysis of whether obesity should be considered a disease — and why experts still debate this question — received a Bronze Award.
GoodRx Health received a third Gold Award in the category of Digital Media/Publications, Consumer Audience, Article Series for a collection of stories about new policies affecting healthcare costs. One of our signature areas of coverage at GoodRx Health is healthcare affordability and how costs affect access to care. Our team of personal finance editors produced several stories that detailed how new laws and policies may affect how much readers pay for healthcare. These include the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency, new rules on medical debt, and federal legislation on insulin pricing.
In the same category, we also received a Silver Award for a series of stories on how real people dealt with medical bills. The stories ranged from a schoolteacher who managed to get her COVID hospital bills forgiven to a retiree who found a patient advocacy group that helped her afford rheumatoid arthritis treatment. These individuals shared their struggles and the practical solutions that helped them access and afford critical care.
