You may already know that GoodRx can help you save up to 80% on thousands of prescription medications. But did you know that GoodRx can also be used for hundreds of over-the-counter medications?
GoodRx coupons can help you save on popular non-prescription products like diabetes test strips, Zyrtec, aspirin, vitamins, Claritin, nicotine patches and many more.
But before you head to the pharmacy, you need to know that using GoodRx coupons for non-prescription products work a bit differently than you may be used to.
Here’s what you need to do to use a GoodRx coupon to save on a non-prescription product:
Get a prescription. You don’t need a prescription to buy these products, but you do need a prescription to receive the GoodRx discount. Healthcare providers often write prescriptions for these products. Just call your doctor’s office and have them call or fax in the prescription to your pharmacy.
Get a GoodRx coupon. Just look up the item you want to buy on GoodRx. Then, print, email or text yourself the appropriate coupon. You can also download our free mobile app which has coupons built right in.
Go to the pharmacy counter (not the cash register). Your pharmacist will locate and set aside this product for you. Many of these products are kept behind the pharmacist’s counter. If not, the pharmacist can help you find the right product and apply the coupon. Do not take your GoodRx coupon to the regular cashier at the front of the store. They won’t be able to apply it to your purchase.
Do you have a Health Spending Account (HSA) or Flex Spending Account (FSA)? You may be able to pay with one of those. But again, you will need to have a prescription.
GoodRx discounts will often help you save. But be sure to look for other store promotions. If you find a lower price without a GoodRx coupon for your product, use that instead. There’s no commitment to using GoodRx. We just want to help you find the maximum savings so you can stay healthy.
