GoodRx’s Integrated Savings Program Wins Fierce Healthcare Innovation Award

One of the most exciting innovations we’ve launched in the last year is our integrated savings program (ISP). This program, created through partnerships with pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) including Express Scripts, CVS Caremark, Navitus, and MedImpact, improves medication affordability and provides critical info to PBMs and insurers — all of which helps improve adherence and clinical safety.  

Fierce Healthcare, one of the most respected healthcare trade organizations, agrees. They named us a winner of their Fierce Healthcare Innovation Award in the Financial/Operational Solutions category. Out of hundreds of submissions, our ISP was honored as an innovative solution that has “the greatest potential to save money, engage patients, or revolutionize the [healthcare] industry.”  

The program allows eligible insurance plan members to have automatic access to GoodRx’s prescription prices. Members show their prescription card at the pharmacy counter, as they normally would. Then, behind the scenes, the ISP technology compares the insurance plan’s copay with GoodRx’s discount price and delivers the lowest price for the medication. 

That’s good for consumers, pharmacies, insurance plan sponsors, and PBMs alike. 

• Consumers get the best price, and the cost is applied to their deductible without any extra effort. 

• Pharmacies help patients get the best price, and the ISP prevents them from losing customers due to cost without any additional time commitment from the customers or pharmacists. 

• Insurance plan sponsors save money, and PBMs capture financial and clinical data  necessary to complete health and safety checks.
