With ever-rising costs of healthcare and prescription medications across the U.S., GoodRx is on a mission to help Americans find convenient, affordable care. Last month, we introduced GoodRx Care, offering online medical visits starting at $20. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’re expanding this service to include prescriptions for EpiPen and similar medication options for anaphylaxis.

GoodRX Care

Roughly 8% of all Americans have experienced anaphylaxis, a serious allergic reaction often brought on by certain foods, insect bites, medications, and latex. If you or someone close to you has serious allergies, you know how dangerous they can be. Symptoms of anaphylaxis can range from itching and hives to swelling of the throat and trouble breathing—and they can be life-threatening. It’s why people at risk for anaphylaxis are recommended to carry an EpiPen or other epinephrine auto-injector with them at all times. In 2015 alone, an estimated 3.6 million Americans were prescribed an epinephrine auto-injector.

GoodRx Care will launch its prescription service for anaphylaxis prevention on Thursday, October 31, which means you’ll be able to get a prescription to refill your epinephrine auto-injector in the comfort of your home within minutes. Along with a consultation with a board-certified healthcare provider, every GoodRx Care visit will include a free GoodRx coupon to help ensure that you have access to the lowest possible price for your medication at your preferred pharmacy.

With GoodRx Care, we’re making EpiPen prescription refills easy. Each online visit to refill your prescription for an epinephrine auto-injector—whether that’s EpiPen, Adrenaclick, Auvi-Q, Symjepi, or their respective generics—costs just $20. And with GoodRx coupons, you can save as much as 70% on these often expensive medications.

We’re not stopping with anaphylaxis, though. GoodRx Care will continue to grow its service offerings to help make healthcare accessible for all Americans. Next up is high cholesterol: We’re set to launch consultation and prescribing services on November 19.

Statin medications, like atorvastatin or simvastatin, are a mainstay of high cholesterol treatment plans, and they are some of the most widely used medications in the U.S.—around 35 million Americans take them. Again, with GoodRx Care, you’ll be able to quickly see a healthcare provider, get your prescription refilled, and find ways to save on these cholesterol-lowering medications, all through the GoodRx platform.

These prescription refill services will be available to adults in all U.S. states where GoodRx Care operates. Your GoodRx Care provider will work with you to see if a refill is right for you and ensure that your primary care doctor, pharmacist, and other members of your care team are kept in the loop about any changes in your treatment plan.
