Alunbrig Side Effects

The following side effects may get better over time as your body gets used to the medication. Let your healthcare provider know immediately if you continue to experience these symptoms or if they worsen over time.

Common Side Effects

  • Labs (higher creatine phosphokinase), suggesting muscle damage (up to 81%)
  • Abnormal liver labs (up to 72%)
  • Abnormal pancreas labs (up to 59%)
  • Higher blood sugar (up to 56%)
  • Diarrhea (up to 53%)
  • Rash (up to 40%)
  • Cough (up to 35%)
  • Nausea (up to 33%)
  • High blood pressure (hypertension, up to 32%)
  • Tiredness (up to 32%)
  • Muscle pain (up to 28%)
  • Headache (up to 28%)
  • Trouble breathing (up to 27%)
  • Abnormal kidney labs (up to 25%)

Less Common Side Effects

  • Stomach pain
  • Vomiting
  • Lower appetite
  • Back pain
  • Itchy skin
  • Constipation
  • Swelling of face, arms, or legs
  • Fever
  • Dizziness
  • Infection in lungs or throat

Alunbrig serious side effects

Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.

  • Severe lung problems: new or worsening breathing problems (e.g., coughing or trouble breathing), chest pain, or fever
  • Dangerously slow heart beat: Tiredness, weakness, feeling dizzy or confused, feeling faint, trouble breathing, chest pain, getting tired easily during physical activity
  • Serious liver problems: feeling very tired, nausea, vomiting, itchy skin, yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin, stomach pain and swelling, swelling in the legs or ankles, dark-colored urine, pale-colored stool

The following Alunbrig side effects have also been reported

Side effects that you should report to your care team as soon as possible:

  • Allergic reactions—skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
  • Dry cough, shortness of breath or trouble breathing
  • High blood sugar (hyperglycemia)—increased thirst or amount of urine, unusual weakness or fatigue, blurry vision
  • Increase in blood pressure
  • Liver injury—right upper belly pain, loss of appetite, nausea, light-colored stool, dark yellow or brown urine, yellowing skin or eyes, unusual weakness or fatigue
  • Muscle injury—unusual weakness or fatigue, muscle pain, dark yellow or brown urine, decrease in amount of urine
  • Pancreatitis—severe stomach pain that spreads to your back or gets worse after eating or when touched, fever, nausea, vomiting
  • Slow heartbeat—dizziness, feeling faint or lightheaded, confusion, trouble breathing, unusual weakness or fatigue
  • Sudden eye pain or change in vision such as blurry vision, seeing halos around lights, vision loss
