As a community pharmacist and a patient, I was frustrated by the complexity of our healthcare system. It’s hard to make good decisions about our health when we don’t understand our conditions, our medications, or just how healthcare works. I am excited to write for GoodRx to develop easy-to-understand health information so that we can make more informed decisions.

Experience

Connie Zheng, PharmD, is a drug information pharmacist at GoodRx and a licensed pharmacist in California. She has over 6 years of experience working in independent pharmacies. As a community pharmacist, she spearheaded a transition-of-care program with other healthcare providers to support people with complex medical conditions as they transitioned from hospital to home. She also helped design and expand a vaccination program that improved access to vaccines for her local community.

Throughout pharmacy school, Connie interned at the Community and Behavioral Health Services Outpatient Pharmacy with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. There, she trained under pharmacists who specialized in addiction medicine and mental health services.

Before beginning her career in pharmacy, Connie interned at a nonprofit environmental consulting organization. Her role included evaluating effective models of medication take-back programs to promote safe medication waste disposal regulations. Her research was published in the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine

Outside of her pharmacy career, Connie serves as a mentor to middle school and high school students in the Silicon Valley.

Education

Connie received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences from University of California, Berkeley.
