Afrezza (insulin) is used to treat diabetes mellitus, including diabetes type 1 and diabetes type 2. It is a fast acting insulin that starts working faster than traditional insulin. It will not work as long as regular insulin. This drug is less popular than comparable drugs. There is currently no generic alternative for Afrezza.
