Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) is a combination of two medications that work together to relieve symptoms caused by allergies and the common cold.
Brompheniramine is an antihistamine. It blocks a chemical in your body called histamine. This lowers inflammation in your respiratory tract, which relieves allergy and common cold symptoms like runny or itchy nose and sneezing.
Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that clears your sinuses to relieve sinus pressure.

Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) comes with a medication dosing cup. Be sure to use this cup to measure your dose. Don't use household spoons to measure, because they're not accurate and might cause you to take the wrong dose.
Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) can raise your blood pressure. If you have heart problems or high blood pressure, ask your provider if it's safe for you to take Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine).
Don't use Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) as a way to make a child go to sleep. While Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) usually makes adults sleepy, it can have the opposite effect in children and make them hyper. If your child is having trouble sleeping, contact their provider or pharmacist for other options.
Stop using Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) and contact your provider if you get nervous, dizzy, or can't sleep, your symptoms don't get better within 1 week of starting Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine), or you develop a fever. These might be signs of another underlying medication condition.
Don't start any new medications while taking Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine), especially other antihistamines or decongestants, without talking to your provider or pharmacist first. Doing so can raise your risk of overdose and severe side effects, including seizures, hallucinations (seeing things that aren't real), daytime sleepiness, dizziness, high blood pressure, or even death.
Tell your provider or pharmacist about all the medications you're taking to make sure Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) is safe for you. Don't take Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) if you're taking or have taken an MAOI, such as selegiline or phenelzine (Nardil), within the past 2 weeks. This combination can cause dangerous changes to your blood pressure. If you've taken an MAOI in the past 2 weeks, contact your provider for other options to treat your symptoms.
Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) can cause some serious health issues. This risk may be even higher for certain groups. If this worries you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about other options.

Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) can make you very sleepy, which can affect your ability to focus, think, or react. This side effect is more likely to happen or be more intense if you're over 65 years old, drink alcohol while taking this medication, or take other medications that cause sleepiness, such as opioids, benzodiazepines, or sleep medications. Don't drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.

Don't take Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) if you have any of the risk factors listed above unless your provider said it's safe to do so. Taking Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) can worsen your condition(s) and cause serious side effects. Make sure your provider knows about all the medical conditions you have or have had in the past before starting Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine).
Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) contains an antihistamine (brompheniramine) and a decongestant (pseudoephedrine), which are found in many other over-the-counter products. Using more than one medication containing an antihistamine or decongestant, including products used on the skin, can lead to an accidental overdose and cause serious side effects. These effects can include high blood pressure, daytime sleepiness, dizziness, seizures, hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren't real), or even death.

Don't start any new medications while taking Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) without talking to your provider or pharmacist. Each 5 mL of Rynex PSE (brompheniramine / pseudoephedrine) contains 1 mg of brompheniramine and 15 mg of pseudoephedrine.
Adults and children age 12 years or older: The typical dose is 4 teaspoonfuls (20 mL) by mouth every 4 to 6 hours while you're having symptoms. Don't use more than 16 teaspoonfuls (80 mL) in a 24-hour period.
Children 6 to under 12 years of age: The typical dose is 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) by mouth every 4 to 6 hours while your child is having symptoms. Don't use more than 8 teaspoonfuls (40 mL) in a 24-hour period.
Children younger than 6 years old: Ask your child's provider.
