Typical dosage for Posaconazole

Treatment of serious Aspergillus infection:

  • Delayed-release tablets:
    • Adults: The typical dose is 300 mg by mouth twice a day on Day 1, followed by 300 mg once a day starting on Day 2 for 6-12 weeks.
    • Children ages 2 to 17 years old (weighing 40 kg or more): The typical dose is 300 mg by mouth twice a day on Day 1, followed by 300 mg once a day starting on Day 2 for 6-12 weeks.

Treatment of thrush infection in the mouth and throat:

  • Oral suspension: Each 1 mL of solution contains 40 mg of posaconzole
    • Adults: The typical dose is 100 mg by mouth twice a day on Day 1, followed by 100 mg once a day for 13 days.
    • Children ages 13 and older: The typical dose is 100 mg by mouth twice a day on Day 1, followed by 100 mg once a day for 13 days.
