Gleostine (lomustine) is an expensive chemotherapy drug used to treat brain tumors and Hodgkin’s disease. It works by interfering with the growth of rapidly growing cells like cancer cells. This drug is more popular than comparable drugs. There is currently no generic alternative to Gleostine. It is not covered by Medicare or most insurance plans, but manufacturer and pharmacy coupons can help offset the cost.
