Dengvaxia Side Effects

The following side effects may get better over time as your body gets used to the medication. Let your healthcare provider know immediately if you continue to experience these symptoms or if they worsen over time.

Common Side Effects

Side effects are more common with the first dose of [[EDITOR|DRUG_DISPLAY_NAME]].

  • Headache (30-40%)
  • Pain at injection site (22-32%)
  • Muscle pain (20-30%)
  • Lack of energy (19-25%)
  • General sickness feeling (16-25%)
  • Fever (7-9%)

Less Common Side Effects

  • Swelling and redness at injection site

Dengvaxia serious side effects

Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.

  • Serious allergic reactions: hives, rash, shaking, itching, nausea, flushing, dizziness, difficulty breathing, chest pain, fainting, throat closing, face swelling
