Apadaz Side Effects

The following side effects may get better over time as your body gets used to the medication. Let your healthcare provider know immediately if you continue to experience these symptoms or if they worsen over time.

Common Side Effects

  • Nausea (22%)
  • Sleepiness (19%)
  • Vomiting (13%)
  • Constipation (12%)
  • Itching (12%)
  • Dizziness (8%)
  • Headache (6%)

Less Common Side Effects

  • Stomach pain
  • Gas
  • Low energy
  • Tremor
  • Shortness of breath
  • Low blood pressure
  • Feeling warm

Apadaz serious side effects

Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.

  • Slowed breathing
  • Overdose: not responding to sound or touch, slowed breathing, extreme sleepiness, slow heartbeat, small pupils, cold or clammy skin
  • Liver damage: stomach pain, dark urine, yellowing of your skin or eyes, sweating
  • Withdrawal: anxiety, suicidal thoughts, restlessness, runny nose, yawning, sweating, chills, wide pupils, trouble sleeping
  • Severe allergic reaction: trouble breathing, chest pain, swelling of face, tongue, or throat, skin blisters or peeling, rash

The following Apadaz side effects have also been reported

Side effects that you should report to your care team as soon as possible:

  • Allergic reactions—skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
  • CNS depression—slow or shallow breathing, shortness of breath, feeling faint, dizziness, confusion, trouble staying awake
  • Liver injury—right upper belly pain, loss of appetite, nausea, light-colored stool, dark yellow or brown urine, yellowing skin or eyes, unusual weakness or fatigue
  • Low adrenal gland function—nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, unusual weakness or fatigue, dizziness
  • Low blood pressure—dizziness, feeling faint or lightheaded, blurry vision
  • Pain or trouble swallowing, heartburn, chest pain
  • Redness, blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth
