Novolin R (human insulin) is a short-acting type of insulin. Insulin helps to control blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus, including diabetes type 1 and diabetes type 2. Novolin R is less popular than comparable drugs. There is currently no generic alternative for Novolin R, but less expensive biosimilar versions may be available in the future.
