Mycozyl HC is a combination topical medication containing tolnaftate (an antifungal) and hydrocortisone (a topical corticosteroid). It's used to treat fungal skin infections that also involves itching, redness, and swelling. Mycozyl HC (tolnaftate / hydrocortisone) is available as a topical liquid and cream gel, and is applied to the skin twice daily. Typically, most people experience few to no side effects while using this medication as directed. But some people have reported skin burning, itching, and dry skin.
Treatment and symptom relief of fungal skin infections (e.g., skin inflammation, itching)
Mycozyl HC (tolnaftate / hydrocortisone) is a combination of two medications:
Tolnaftate is a topical antifungal medication. It works by blocking a protein that fungi need to grow. This stops the fungi from spreading and kills them.
Hydrocortisone is a topical corticosteroid. When it’s used on the skin, hydrocortisone lowers the amount of inflammatory chemicals that cause redness, itching, and swelling. This helps to decrease skin inflammation.
