Drizalma Sprinkle Side Effects

The following side effects may get better over time as your body gets used to the medication. Let your healthcare provider know immediately if you continue to experience these symptoms or if they worsen over time.

Common Side Effects

  • Nausea (18-23%)
  • Headache (14-18%)
  • Weight loss (14% in children)
  • Dry mouth (6-14%)
  • Stomach pain (5-13%)
  • Sleepiness (9-11%)
  • Tiredness (7-11%)
  • Lower appetite (6-10%)
  • Constipation (9% in adults)
  • Dizziness (8-9%)
  • Hard to sleep (7-10%)
  • Diarrhea (6-9%)
  • Vomiting (3-9%)
  • Excessive sweating (6% in adults)

Less Common Side Effects

  • Blurred vision
  • Agitation
  • Tremor
  • Anxiety
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Low sex drive
  • Upper respiratory tract infections
  • Muscle pain
  • Flushing
  • Throat pain
  • Cough

Drizalma Sprinkle serious side effects

Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.

  • Suicidal thoughts and behavior
  • Liver failure: itchy skin, feeling bloated, nausea, right upper stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, feeling tired, feeling confused, not wanting to eat
  • Serotonin syndrome: agitation, hallucinations, confusion, coma, fast heart rate, sudden changes in blood pressure, dizziness, sweating, blushing, high body temperature, tremor, stiffness, muscle jerks, or seizures
  • Severe skin reactions: skin blisters, peeling rash, sores in the mouth, or hives
  • Withdrawal symptoms: nausea, diarrhea, sweating, anxiety, agitation, dizziness, confusion, headache, trouble sleeping, and seizures
  • Severe bleeding or bruising: bruising that doesn't improve, black-colored stools, pink or red-colored urine, coughing up or vomiting blood, unusual bleeding from the nose or gums
  • Low sodium levels: headaches, trouble concentrating, memory problems, weakness, confusion, hallucinations
  • Seizures

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Abdominal or stomach pain

area rash

blindness

blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin

blurred vision

change in consciousness

chills

clay-colored stools

cold sweats

confusion

convulsions

dark urine

decreased urine output

decreased vision

difficulty with swallowing

dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position

eye pain

fainting

fast or irregular heartbeat

general tiredness or weakness

hives or welts, itching, or skin rash

hives, itching, puffiness, or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue

increased thirst

joint or muscle pain

large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs

light-colored stools

loss of consciousness

red skin lesions, often with a purple center

red, irritated eyes

redness of the skin

sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips

swelling of the face, ankles, or hands

tearing

tightness in the chest

unpleasant breath odor

upper right stomach pain

vomiting of blood

yellow eyes and skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Agitation

diarrhea

fever

loss of bladder control

muscle spasm or jerking of all extremities

overactive reflexes

poor coordination

restlessness

shivering

sleepiness or unusual drowsiness

sudden loss of consciousness

sweating

talking or acting with excitement you cannot control

trembling or shaking

twitching

unusual tiredness or weakness

vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Body aches or pain

cough

difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)

dry mouth

ear congestion

frequent urination

headache

lack or loss of strength

loss of appetite

loss of voice

muscle aches

nausea

sleepiness or unusual drowsiness

sneezing

sore throat

stuffy or runny nose

sweating increased

trouble sleeping

weight loss

Less common

Abnormal orgasm

acid or sour stomach

belching

burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings

change in taste

change or problem with discharge of semen

decreased interest in sexual intercourse

difficulty with moving

feeling of warmth or redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest

heartburn

inability to have or keep an erection

indigestion

longer than usual time to ejaculation of semen

loose stools

loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance

loss of taste

muscle cramps, pains, or stiffness

shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet

stomach discomfort or upset

sudden sweating

swollen joints

trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
