Typical dosage for Boostrix

The typical dose is 1 injection given into the shoulder muscle by a healthcare provider. There are two Tdap vaccines available: Adacel and Boostrix.

Routine vaccination:

  • Boostrix is given at least 5 years after the last dose of the DTaP vaccine or the Td vaccine.
  • If your provider says you need a second dose of Boostrix, you should get it at least 8 years (for Adacel) or 9 years (for Boostrix) after your first dose.
