About Avastin

Avastin (bevacizumab) is used to treat colorectal cancer, lung cancer, glioblastoma, renal cell carcinoma, cervical cancer and ovarian cancer. Avastin is also available as a biosimilar. Biosimilars are biologic drugs that are similar to the original medication with no meaningful differences in effectiveness or safety. Avastin is a VEGF antibody which works to slow down cancer cell growth to prevent spread. Avastin is avalible as a 4ml and 16ml vial. It is covered by some medicare and insurance plans.
