What Is Cervical Cancer?

Cervical cancer occurs in the cervix. HPV is a common cause of cervical cancer. Symptoms include heavy vaginal bleeding, bone fractures, weight loss, appetite loss, fatigue, back pain, and painful sexual intercourse.

Cervical cancer can be treated with radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery to remove cancerous tissue. Medications in the topoisomerase inhibitors drug class are commonly used to interfere with cancer cell growth.
