The following side effects may get better over time as your body gets used to the medication. Let your healthcare provider know immediately if you continue to experience these symptoms or if they worsen over time.
Common Side Effects
- Pain, redness, and swelling at the injection site (30%)
Less Common Side Effects
- Tingling
- Dizziness/feeling like you're spinning (vertigo)
- Feeling warm or hot
- Burning feeling
- Feeling of heaviness
- Pressure feeling
- Blushing (flushing)
Zembrace serious side effects
Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Heart attack: chest pain that spreads to the neck, shoulder, or jaw, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, fainting, sweating, nausea
- Stroke: sudden weakness on one side of your body (face, arm, or leg), feeling confused, trouble speaking, trouble seeing, feeling dizzy, trouble walking
- Narrowing of arteries leading to low blood flow to parts of the body: pain, numbness, or color changes in your arms or legs, severe stomach pain, bloody diarrhea
- Serotonin syndrome: agitation, hallucinations, racing heartbeat, heavy sweating, high fever, shakiness, muscle spasm, nausea, vomiting
- Very high blood pressure: blood pressure above 180/120 mmHg, severe chest pain, severe headache, shortness of breath, vision changes, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, seizures
- Serious allergic reactions: rash, difficulty breathing, swelling of tongue, mouth, or throat
- Abnormal heart beat
- Seizures

Side effects that you should report to your care team as soon as possible:
- Allergic reactions—skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
- Burning, pain, tingling, or color changes in the legs or feet
- Heart attack—pain or tightness in the chest, shoulders, arms, or jaw, nausea, shortness of breath, cold or clammy skin, feeling faint or lightheaded
- Heart rhythm changes—fast or irregular heartbeat, dizziness, feeling faint or lightheaded, chest pain, trouble breathing
- Increase in blood pressure
- Raynaud's—cool, numb, or painful fingers or toes that may change color from pale, to blue, to red
- Seizures
- Serotonin syndrome—irritability, confusion, fast or irregular heartbeat, muscle stiffness, twitching muscles, sweating, high fever, seizure, chills, vomiting, diarrhea
- Stroke—sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm, or leg, trouble speaking, confusion, trouble walking, loss of balance or coordination, dizziness, severe headache, change in vision
- Sudden or severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, or bloody diarrhea
- Vision loss
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your care team if they continue or are bothersome):
- Dizziness
- Facial flushing, redness
- General discomfort or fatigue
