Zaxopam is part of the Benzodiazepines class and treats Alcohol Dependence and Anxiety. Benzodiazepines are used for sedation and to treat anxiety, panic disorder, alcohol addiction, epilepsy, insomnia, musculoskeletal conditions, spasticity, and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. They work by slowing down the central nervous system and relaxing muscles. Zaxopam is only available as a brand name drug.
