Ryzumvi (phentolamine) is approved for adults and children ages 3 years and older. An eye specialist gives 1 or 2 drops after the exam or procedure. Common side effects include eye discomfort, eye redness, and a brief unusual taste in your mouth.

Typical dosage for Ryzumvi (phentolamine)

  • People 12 years and older: Place 1 or 2 drops in each dilated eye after the eye exam or procedure ends. Wait 5 minutes to place the second drop after the first.

  • Children ages 3 to 11 years: Place 1 drop in each dilated eye after the eye exam or procedure ends.
