Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) is a combination of two medications called chlophedianol and pseudoephedrine.
Chlophedianol is a cough suppressant that relieves coughing by calming the cough control center in your brain.
Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that tightens the blood vessels in your nose to help with swelling and pressure, which will allow you to breathe better.

You can take Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) with or without food.
Make sure to measure the dose with the measuring device that comes with the Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) bottle. Don't use a kitchen measuring spoon to measure your dose because it might not be accurate.
Stop taking Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) and ask your provider if you develop new symptoms, your current symptoms don't improve within 1 week, or if you develop a fever, rash, headache that won't go away, nervousness, dizziness, or sleeping problems with this medication. These might be signs of a more serious medical problem that needs attention
Tell your provider or pharmacist about all the medications you're taking to make sure Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) is safe for you. Don't start any new medications while taking Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine), especially other decongestants or cough.
Don't take Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) if you're taking or have taken an monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), such as selegiline (Eldepryl) or phenelzine (Nardil), within the past 2 weeks. This combination can cause dangerous changes to your blood pressure. If you have taken an MAOI in the past 2 weeks, contact your provider for other options to treat your symptoms.
Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) can raise your blood pressure. If you have heart problems or high blood pressure, ask your provider if it's safe for you to take Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine).
If you're pregnant, thinking of becoming pregnant, or planning to breastfeed, let your provider know right away. Also, check with them whether Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) is still safe for you.
Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) can cause some serious health issues. This risk may be even higher for certain groups. If this worries you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about other options.

Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) can be accidentally overdosed if you take more of this medication than directed or take other over-the-counter cough and decongestants. Many medications that are sold over the counter for cold and cough contain the same or similar ingredients. Accidental overdose can lead to serious problems, such as seizures and death. Get medical help or call a Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222 right away if you think you're experiencing an overdose.

Each teaspoonful (5 mL) of Rondec-D (chlophedianol / pseudoephedrine) contains 12.5 mg of chlophedianol and 30 mg of pseudoephedrine.
Adults and children 12 years and older: The typical dose is 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) by mouth every 6 to 8 hours. The maximum dose is 8 teaspoonfuls (40 mL) in 24 hours.
Children 6 to 11 years old: The typical dose is 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) by mouth every 6 to 8 hours. The maximum dose is 4 teaspoonfuls (20 mL) in 24 hours.
Children under 6 years old: Ask your child's provider.
