Neomycin Side Effects

The following side effects may get better over time as your body gets used to the medication. Let your healthcare provider know immediately if you continue to experience these symptoms or if they worsen over time.

Common Side Effects

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Less Common Side Effects

  • Hearing loss
  • Trouble maintaining balance
  • Muscle weakness

Neomycin serious side effects

Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.

  • Serious kidney problems: swelling in your feet or ankles, difficulty making urine, feeling tired, feeling confused, nausea, and difficulty breathing
  • Serious nerve problems: skin tingling, numbness, muscle weakness or twitching, difficulty breathing, slurred speech, drowsiness, headache

Itching, rash, redness, swelling, or other sign of irritation not present before use of this medicine

After application, eye ointments may be expected to cause your vision to blur for a few minutes.
