Fenofibrate (Fenoglide, Lofibra, Lipofen, Tricor) is a moderately priced drug used to help lower blood fats and cholesterol for people who are at risk of getting inflammation of the pancreas from having very high amounts of fat in their blood. This medicine is only for patients whose blood fats are not controlled by diet. This drug is slightly more popular than comparable alternatives. It is available in multiple brand and generic forms. Generic fenofibrate is covered by most Medicare and insurance plans, but some pharmacy coupons or cash prices may be lower.
