What Are High Triglycerides?

Comprehensive information for you or a loved one — including treatment options and discounts on popular medications.

High triglycerides are high levels of fat in the blood. Triglycerides provide energy, but high levels can increase the chances for heart disease. People with high levels of trigylceride usually do not have any symptoms.

Treatments include medications, diet, and exercise. The most common drug classes used to treat high triglycerides are fibrates, nicotinic acids, and statin / nicotinic acids combinations.
