How to get this medication

Enbrel is a specialty medication, which means it's costly and requires more steps than usual in order to get it. We break down the process for you.

About Enbrel

prescription bottle
Enbrel (etanercept) is used to treat rheumatoid, psoriatic, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and plaque psoriasis. Enbrel will also be available as a biosimilar. Biosimilars are biologic drugs that are similar to the original medication with no meaningful differences in effectiveness or safety. The currently approved biosimliars for enbrel are eticovo (etanercept-ykro) and erelzi (etanercept-szzs). Enbrel may be covered by your Medicare or insurance plan, but some pharmacy coupons or cash prices could help offset the cost.

With the Patient Assistance Program from Amgen, you can receive your medication free of charge for up to one year.
