Diclofenac sodium (Diclofex DC, Voltaren, Solaraze, Voltaren Gel, Pennsaid) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). The eye drops are used in the eye to treat swelling after eye surgery. It also helps treat pain and sensitivity to light after the surgery. Tablet forms of the drug help treat pain related to osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It is more popular than comparable drugs. It is available in multiple generic and brand versions. Generic diclofenac sodium is covered by most Medicare and insurance plans, but some pharmacy coupons or cash prices may be lower.
