What Are Gallstones?

Gallstones form in the gallbladder. They are hard and may be very small to golf ball sized. Symptoms of gallstones in the gallbladder include abdominal painfever, jaundice, yellow skin, and nausea and vomiting.

Treatment for gallstones include surgery to remove gallstones or medications that dissolve the gallstones. A common drug class used to treat gallstones is the bile acids drug class.
