What Is Fever?

A fever occurs when the body's temperature increases to fight infections and autoimmune conditions. Symptoms include feeling warm or hot, chills, and muscle ache.

Treatment for fevers are done to lower body temperature. Common drug classes used to reduce fevers are NSAID and acetaminophens. Staying hydrated is important as well as resting. Sometimes fevers may not need any treatment.
