What Is Fungal Infection?

Comprehensive information for you or a loved one — including treatment options and discounts on popular medications.

While there are a variety of fungal infections, most begin on the skin or in the lungs. Fungi release spores into the air to reproduce, so the spores can land on the skin or be inhaled.

There are different types of treatments for fungal infections whether it is a topical treatment or oral medication. Common drug classes used to treat fungal infections are nucleoside analogue antifungals, polyene antifungal / corticosteroid combinations, and azole antifungals.
