What Is Chickenpox?

Chickenpox is a viral infection that causes blisters to form on the skin. The blisters are itchy and scab over. Since the development of the chickenpox vaccine, it has become less common.

Treatments for chickenpox include taking medication. A common drug class used to treat chickenpox is the herpes virus nucleoside analogues. Vaccinations can also be used to prevent infection.
