What Is Adrenal Cancer?

Adrenal cancer is a rare cancer of the adrenal gland, some types of which can easily spread to other areas of the body. Tumors may affect hormones produces by the adrenal gland, causing related symptoms like fluid build-up, weight gain, increase in facial hair, and early puberty in children.

Treatment for adrenal cancer includes removal of cancerous tumors, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Some drugs commonly used to treat adrenal cancer are adrenal cytotoxic agents (Lysodren) and catecholamine synthesis inhibitors (Demser).
