Different forms of ciclopirox start working at different times. Ciclopirox nail lacquer can take at least 6 months to provide noticeable improvement for nail fungus infections. Topical ciclopirox creams, gels, and lotions may start working for skin or scalp fungal infections within 1 week of starting them.
