Yes, ciclopirox works to treat different fungal infections. The topical forms, such as creams and lotions, start working for skin infecitons after applying them for 1 week. They may take up to 4 weeks to fully treat your infection. Ciclopirox nail lacquer takes longer to work for fignernail and toenail fungal infections. You may not notice improvement in your nail(s) for at least 6 months after starting ciclopirox. And you'll need to use the medication for a total of 48 weeks (11 months) to make sure the infection is fully treated.
