Akynzeo (netupitant / palonosetron) is a combination of two medications. Netupitant, a neurokinin-1 (NK-1) receptor antagonist, blocks a chemical in your brain called substance P. Palonosetron, a serotonin receptor antagonist, blocks serotonin in your stomach. Blocking these chemicals helps with preventing nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy.
