Advicor is part of the Nicotinic Acids class and treats High Cholesterol. Nicotinic acids are used for high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and coronary artery disease. They work by stopping the production of cholesterol in the liver and getting rid of triglyerides from the blood. Nicotinic acids also are used to treat certain nutritional deficiencies. Advicor is only available as a brand name drug.
