The following side effects may get better over time as your body gets used to the medication. Let your healthcare provider know immediately if you continue to experience these symptoms or if they worsen over time.
Common Side Effects
There's no information about side effects when taken for smallpox treatment. Below are side effects reported in adults taking the tablets not specifically for smallpox.
- Diarrhea (8%)
- Nausea (5%)
- Vomiting (4%)
- Stomach pain (3%)
Less Common Side Effects
- Low appetite
- Muscle weakness
- Change in taste
- Rash
Tembexa serious side effects
Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Liver problems: swelling of your stomach, yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes, confusion, dark or brown urine
- Dehydration: dry mouth, not urinating as much, lightheadedness, dizziness
- Cancer: signs or symptoms of cancer
