Levothroid

Levothroid (levothyroxine) is a synthetically prepared thyroid hormone that can improve symptoms of thyroid deficiency such as slow speech, lack of energy, weight gain, hair loss, dry skin, and feeling cold. There are several brand and generic levothyroxine choices available, though they may not be interchangeable. Although Levothroid has been discontinued, Synthroid, Unithroid, Levoxyl, and generic levothyroxine are still available.
