The following side effects may get better over time as your body gets used to the medication. Let your healthcare provider know immediately if you continue to experience these symptoms or if they worsen over time.

Common Side Effects

  • Brief stinging or burning in the nose right after use
  • Nosebleeds (8%)
  • Headache (6%)
  • Ear infection (6%)
  • Sneezing right after use (5%)
  • Sore throat (5%)

Less Common Side Effects

  • Runny nose
  • Sinus infection
  • Asthma

Cromolyn Non-Prescription serious side effects

Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.

  • Allergic reaction: shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness, hives, swelling of the mouth or throat
