Hearing about your liver cancer diagnosis can cause your brain to swirl with tons of medical jargon, or complex lingo. This can make it difficult to concentrate on which type of liver cancer you have — and how it makes a difference in your treatment.
“If you're familiar with the type of liver cancer that you have, it allows you then to pursue the proper course of treatment,” says Elliott Newman, MD, chief of surgical oncology at Lenox Hill Hospital, Northwell Health System.
Dr. Newman is the Chief of Surgical Oncology at Lenox Hill Hospital, Northwell Health System, and a professor at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
