DIPHTHERIA; TETANUS; PERTUSSIS;
POLIOVIRUS;
HAEMOPHILUS INFLUENZAE TYPE B;
HEPATITIS B VACCINE reduces the risk of diphtheria, tetanus (lockjaw), pertussis (whooping
cough), poliovirus (
polio), Haemophilus influenzae type b (
Hib), and hepatitis B. It does not treat these infections. It is still possible to get these infections after receiving the vaccine, but the symptoms may be less severe or not last as long. It works by helping your immune system learn how to fight off a future infection.
